Hetty Denen’s Bronze Level Award Ceremony Highlights

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone at Hetty Denen School—our participants proudly achieved the Bronze Level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award! This accomplishment highlights their dedication and the transformative power of this esteemed program.

A Memorable Graduation Ceremony
On 19th July 2024, Hetty Denen School hosted a vibrant graduation ceremony to honor 45 dedicated participants. The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Moono, the District Education Board Secretary for Kafue, who delivered an inspiring keynote address. She remarked, “Admittedly, the world is complex; we must think outside the box. This program provides such exposure, and I foresee significant economic contributions from its participants. To everyone who has completed this journey, my office celebrates your success and recognizes every remarkable achievement.” Her words resonated deeply, underscoring the profound impact of the Award program.

The ceremony was further enhanced by the attendance of Mr. Saka Sonkotwe, a valued board member, and Mr. Brian Chisebe from World Vision. Their support has been crucial to the successful implementation and ongoing success of the Award program at Hetty Denen.

Celebrating Transformative Impact

Mr. Eusebio Musute, Head Teacher at Hetty Denen, provided insightful comments on the positive changes driven by the Award program:

“The Award program has profoundly impacted our school. We have seen significant improvements in conflict resolution skills among participants, effective management of our school garden, cost savings through handmade flower pots, and a remarkable increase of over 150 new participants. These developments promise a bright future for the program and our participants.”

Throughout their Bronze Level journey, participants have acquired new skills, engaged in physical activities, and embarked on exciting adventures. This program has equipped them with practical abilities and fostered resilience and leadership qualities that will benefit them in their future endeavors.

One participant expressed his pride and reflections on receiving his certificate, stating:

“Receiving the Award is momentous and worth celebrating. I have learned new skills, improved my physical fitness, and engaged in a wide range of activities. As one of the pioneers of the program at my school, I believe we have paved the way for other learners.”

A Celebration of Achievements

The graduation ceremony was a lively celebration of achievements, featuring a range of activities including poetry recitations, singing performances, and demonstrations of the new skills acquired by the participants. It was particularly heartwarming to witness the enthusiastic support from parents, who were present in full force. Their pride was evident as they watched their children reach this significant milestone. The sense of accomplishment and joy was palpable, with smiles and cheers reflecting the importance of this achievement. The presence of the parents added a special touch, making the event even more memorable for everyone involved.
